Didn't most every ship have a HF harbor voice radio,
for the 2-3 Mcs. band? I mean, during WW2. I think
before that, many ships still had only telegraph equipment
and sometimes only LF-MF. This didn't need to be as big
a deal as a TCS. There were many companies besides
RMCA producing ship radiotelephones.
I always wondered if the 2.1-3 ARA-ATA equipment
and the 2 - 4.5 TU for the ATB were designed for this
