Sort of reluctant to enter this largely emotional fray.

I'm not a regular seller.  A dozen + transactions per year

But I do read the fine print.  F'rinstance if the guy backs his paypal
account with a credit card & the amount flows into same card.  5%(?)
kicker.

Real people get charged ~.7% by the card companies

Then ebay commissions

Then foreign xfrs that go at about 3x bank rates

So you may be dinged by as much as 15% by the auction mill

That's less than live auctions so not such a bummer

BUT

I note buyer will pay all but ebay commissions which chaps a few
