[Milsurplus] eBay does it

Unfortunately, all that that is going to accomplish, at least after the new
rules actually go into effect, is to get the seller in trouble with eBay if he
agrees to it. And probably get him a Negative Feedback which he cannot do
anything about if he refuses (eBay claims that they will remove any received for
that reason but you know what their claims are worth). Ebay has already
stated explicitly that sellers accepting checks or money orders outside the system
will be charged with a policy violation. If the seller has Power Seller
status, 5 such violations in 60 days will cause him to lose it.

Further, I fully expect to see the button in My eBay where a seller can mark
an item as PAID disappear. eBay's KGB computer will no doubt also be
programmed to look for sales that are marked as shipped but not marked as paid.

On the other hand, it is unfortunate that some sellers have jumped the gun.
We don't intend to make any changes until the last week of October.

And just for the record, I totally disagree with almost every rule change
that they have made or announced this year. For one thing, until they came up
with this check and MO thing, every one either hurt sellers but not buyers or
hurt both. But I am not going to risk getting caught violating them, either.
