I think Massachusetts is being portrayed a bit unfairly. I have no great
love for the state, but it has sure done it's share for US freedoms. These
come instantly to mind:

Battles of Lexington, Concord, and Bunker Hill
Mass. Constitution (which guarantees more freedoms than the US one)
MIT Radiation Lab (think design of most WW II US radars & the Rad Lab
books)
MIT Instrumentation Lab (now C.S. Draper Labs)....  (Mk 14 gunsight;
inertial guidance for planes, subs, and ICBMs)
Raytheon (Submini tubes =>> Proximity Fuze); Submarine Signal (SONAR),
Hawk & Patriot & Sidewinder

The many people of Mass are freedom loving and don't just blindly follow
politicians into silly wars, knowing full well the horrors therein. That
attitude has been distorted by the opposition for its propaganda purposes.
