Hi all,
I have found some silicon transistors that
may be possible substitutes for the small signal
germaniums. They are NPN like the common small signal
germaniums, & have a collector bias of similar
current, around 1 to 2mA. They have a noise figure of
2, a lot better than the germaniums 10! The gain is a
lot higher, however, so I'll have to drop them in &
see what happens to circuit operation. They are 2N3962
to 2N3965. Hope fully they will work in an R-1051
circuit!
