If I remember the clip, it came from, Jim Bates, a combat camera man (most likely using a 16mm movie camera) and the shot that killed the Panther was fired from an American T-26 Pershing wth a 90mm main gun. Three shots were fired, and on TiVo, I managed to slow the shots down to almost single frames...WOW! You see this muzzle blast, next frame there is a white hot flame about 2 ft from the side of the German Panther tank, and the next frame shows the explosion! Talk about muzzle velocity!

Anyway, this footage was shot during the retaking Cologne, on March 6, 1945 (a year to the day before I was born!!) if I remember correctly. Its been a few years since I actually saw this clip.
