Thanx to all who contributed and commented. I think it is pinned down to
""old WWII Sperry or Honeywell A-1 autopilot that was installed in various 
WW II
transports and bombers, C-47, C-54, B-17, B-24?, and others."" (thanx Dan 
Arney,
and Larry - WB5OFD came up with a parts list identifying the P/N as a 
Sperry.
Anybody want one for any reason?
