I just consulted my copy of the P-51 Mustang Pilot's Training Manual; a
fighter
that used the APS-13.

They don't show a control box; it has a picture of what appears to be an
improvised, crude, field built control panel. The text reads as follows:

"The AN/APS-13 unit is a light weight radar set that warns you, by means of an
indicator light and bell, of the presence or approach of other aircraft to
your rear.

"The red jewel indicator light is mounted on the left side of the
instrument cowl,
the bell is to the left of the seat. Control switches are provided on a panel
at your right.

"The equipment is automatic and is turned on and off by a toggle switch.
There's
also a checking switch to test the operation of the light and bell, and a
rheostat for controlling the intensity of the indicator light.

That's all I can tell you about the rig. Sorry I couldn't help more.

PS- I've had an APS-13 sitting in my garage for years... never got around to
digging into it for parts or whatever.
