Yes, there probably is a special TO or manual on it - but if the
modification was not common (apparently very few were done, from the
examples seen today), few manuals would have been printed. Perhaps one
will show up someday. Or not. If only 500 mauals were printed in 1955
or so, what are the chances of obtaining one today?

There should be, but perhaps not. If so few were modified, for some
specific project, perhaps they did not bother.
