[Milsurplus] "H" and "I"

I am thinking of replacing the hacked up front panel of the "H" model 
with a better looking "I" model panel.  Are they identical except for 
the nomenclature tags?  I think they all screw on, so it would be no 
problem to switch them.  The "H" front panel has a big hole (3" plus 
diameter) hacked and I do mean HACKED in it where someone had mounted an 
ammeter, most likely for setting the modulation without a BC-614 speech 
amp.  Rather than patch the hole I think I'll switch them out and worry 
about the hole when it comes time to restore the "I" model.  Can anyone 
think of a reason this would not work?
