Darn it, Gary! I was just getting to the part where
the lowest ranking crewmember had to go out and hand
prop them in reverse since the starter motors only
turned one way.
By the way, it was considered in bad taste aboard
civilian passenger aircraft for the pilot to say
something of the order "I hope this works *this* time"
anywhere the passengers might hear him/her. This may
still be true but not about props ... usually.
Tired aircrews with live ammo on board constitute an
excellent reason for tower personnel not to play
"Simon Says" with aircraft in the pattern.
