Command set receivers are pretty simple straightforward 
circuit, so it should be a piece of cake. But i surely would
not use JFETs for every RF slot because of the loading 
down of tuned circuits.

The fellow who did this indicated he was going for FET for
the GRC-9 transmitter also. I'm not up on the latest, but i 
was not aware of any HV FETs that didn't have an enormous
gate-drain capacitance, and that's a rea problem.  -Hue Miller
