Unfortunately, I should have pulled out the drawer and looked first. The two
cable connectors I have are spoken for. It was the chassis ones that I have
a handful of, and most people would probably just grab another receiver rather
than replacing that.
But no, the twinax used on the R-390 family isn't the same. The one we're
talking about is substantially the same as a PL-259 (UHF) but with two pins.
And is unpolarized. The one on the 390's is larger (but with smaller solid
pins), keyed, more complicated, and is the same as later used in Token Ring
network cabling.
I just went through the Allied catalog and although I found the Token Ring
style, no one lists the UHF style any more.
