[Milsurplus] OT: Black Mold on manuals

Some janitorial and pool maintenance places carry disinfecting UV lamps,
as well as some hospital supply places.

If all else fails, you can use an EPROM eraser, which is nothing more
than a UV lamp, although it's probably not big enough to do a whole
page at once.

John:

The tradeoff is between making the mold lighter and not impacting the
print. Start with a very mild solution of Clorox in a well
ventilated area, applying with a Q-tip or artist brush. I don't
think you want to soak the whole page, but it depends on how badly
the material is contaminated. If you have access to a very high
intensity UV source, that might also work, but protect your eyes
there. Remember the Clorox will also weaken the paper, so try to
keep the area being cleaned as small as possible. Stronger solutions
will work faster, but also will be more difficult to control. Wash
with plain water, dry between absorbent material like well used cloth
diapers, and copy. Good luck!
