Back in the late 60's while working on ASW systems at Magnavox in Fort =
Wayne
the nomenclature for the system I was working on was the AN/AQA-7. Then
something happened and it became the AN/AQA-7(V). I think at the time it
meant something like "variant", in other words it had more features than
originally required. This was almost 40 years ago so I am not all that =
sure.

"-V".
