Learned something new tonight.  SINCGARS - SINgle Channel Ground Airborne 
Radio System.  SB 11-131 says that the acronym for the systems that would (have) 
replaced the AN/VRC-12 family was SINCGARS-V, but doesn't explain the "-V".
