C'mon, you can't say that
SCR-593 Receiver, Warning-Network (BC-728), four channels, 2-6 Mhz,
powered by 2-V battery; TM 11-859, 1943.
The "warnings" were for HCN, Robert.
On BC-728/GRR-5, I go with direct info fm head of labs, Ft. Monmouth
1960-74. Not some selectively discarded make-work GI doc.
All I can divine from that reference is they were still trying to justify
an over-design/
over-build
Find someone fm late Korea/'Nam that ever used a GRR-5
Now on RS-6. I've talked directly with a Moto alum. A CIA 'nam user.
Plus a Ft. Jackson Ranger
RS-6 & '109 employer. This makes me think the RS-6 was a CIA spec'd
catalog MOTO survival set. SAC bought a few hundred & Army bought 1000s
that went out thru MARS down this way.
Then there were the 'lost' agency units. This burns up my RS-6 porkbarrel
notion
And Robt., can you cite a declassified reference on the RS-6?
