Paul,

The problem with these old FM rigs is the bandwidth they take up, i.e., 30 - 
40 KC deviation each side of the carrier.   Legal only above 29mHz. We've been 
using the BC-659, RT-67 and Russian R-105 equipment during our MRCG Field Day 
exercises down here in SOCAL with no problems during the past sunspot low.   
Don't think our activities would be welcome during peak years, though.
