Australia needed long range seaplanes, and purchased them from the USA. 
They flew them from the USA to Oz during the war.
Some were factory fitted with GO9 and others with ATB transmitters,
for the ferry flights.

The standard RAAF all purpose HF/LF tx/rx was the AT5/AR8 for AM and CW.
There was no Liason/Command function distinction, 
or separate duplicate radios.
