Just to further muddy the waters, I have an "AK-2202" antenna which consists of a multitude of lengths of stainless steel cable, numerous insulators and power resistors, and which appears to be some variant of an NVIS antenna.  This one, however, includes a 250 watt, 50 to 600 ohm BALUN at the feedpoint.  Any chance the AS-2259 originally included one?
