 The thing about the TCS jeep is, this jeep was a commo vehicle,
wasn't it? I mean imagine a truck convoy, each vehicle wouldn't
have a TCS. The point for  comms in mos non-specialized non-
commo vehicles was to have a push-to-talk and forget the rest
radio.

I think the SP Gun ( (90mm ?) RUGF used only one or a couple
coils. Also it wouldn't need the receiver coffeegrinder, altho i
can't definitely rule it out.

Imagine listening to operations, using say, an HRO or other
receiver with non-broad selectivity choice, from some miles
away. You might notice each GF off frequency a bit, maybe
even a few kcs. Of course that wouldn't bother the RU at all.
However, using this radio in an actual invasion or battle,
you might have a real problem with the RU. Or at least, you'd 
hear a whole lot going on.  -Hue Miller
