[Milsurplus] Freon vs CO2

Bob,

you are correct in that freons are heavier than air, roughly specific
gravity around 3.08 to 3.25 depending on the freon type.

By the same token, CO2 is 1.55 or thereabouts, and in theory, should
also sink to the ground, but we know that the atmosphere contains
CO2 at high altitudes, too.

Granted, the freon is also quite a bit heavier, but I think there are
measurable concentrations of freon compounds at atmosphere,
and I suspect not all of them are from leaky aircraft air conditioning
systems.

The real problem with global warming, if it really does exist, is that
none of us today will be around when it becomes a real problem.
