[Milsurplus] Freon vs CO2

You're correct on both counts. But the groups who caused the Freon variant
refrigerants to be outlawed are also the ones pushing the global warming scare.
The increased release of CO2 and etc. caused by use of much less efficient
refrigerants will, if you believe them, exacerbate global warming. Of course
any reference to the fact that the planet is coming out of a little ice age or
that the mean temperature has been higher that today's in relatively recent
history are carefully screened out of all reports.

The reason for my comment earlier about the refrigerant scare being BS was
that Freon is heavier than air. When released, it goes down, not up. Unless
you have something with enough force to loft a bunch of it, like a volcanic
eruption or a thermonuclear explosion. And it wouldn't survive the nuke anyway.
