I spoke with a volunteer at an acft museum that has LOTS of USAF planes. He said a few yrs ago the USAF sent a crew out to remove "dangerous instruments'. They butchered some panels taking out the instruments. If things didnt come out easly the panel was cut around them. Somehow a few of the planes from the 50s escaped their wrath. Their KC 97L has every single one of its MANY instruments (you should see the FE panel, eclipsed probably only by the B 36 FE panel). With six engines and air refuleing gear you can imagine the complexity. The plane is missing only one thing as far as I could tell, the ARC 58. Has the control heads but no radio. Cockpit is huge, way bigger than B 36 or 747 cockpit
