Keep in mind that it was probably the best field radio around when the
line was introduced in the 1930s. The Signal Corps sets at the time were
pretty bad.

Still, the line should have dies out in the first part of the War. Clearly
outclassed, I suspect the later TBX contracts were just inertia.
