[Unserviceable but Repairable]

Now that we've got the KWS-1/75A4/C97/summer-of-'56 story right, has
anyone heard the Navy version?

It goes that perhaps 8 A4/KWS-1 pairs with 2mhz, 80m, 40m, 8mhz, 20m, &
15m were ordered/delivered in fall-of-56.  Test was held off Azores w.
SSB ships sailing every which-a-way comparing their big (TDQ?) AM things
with the ham-jobs.

One cruiser still had daytime 2180khz contact as far as Scotland and Navy sed

"Stop the contest."

This is oral tradition from a retired admiral who's a ham/Collins-nut &
a stroke-victim.  Still lives & won't quote w/o permission

Sound like a area-51 story?

Only substance is I know whereabouts of a so-calibrated KWS-1.
