Hi Mike,
The AN/ARC-5 LF/MF/HF maintenance manual AN 16-30ARC5-2 lists the "HS-33" as a "high impedance headset" (error) in the list of equipment required for set maintenance, but the related figure 8-70 simply lists a "49015" headset.
I suppose one could be forgiven for just pairing up an HS-33 and CD-307 with USN gear. The H-3/ARR-3 description on your website sounds an awful lot like an HS-33 (HB-7, M-301, PL-354, etc.). At least using the RS-38 for the mic would still give the audio accessories that distinct USN look.
