About the PRC-47 it was "crew served" radio LOL

The AN/PRC-47 set had 2 separate pack harnesses and was
carried by 2 men -- one toted the RT, the other the battery,
antennas and accessories.

I have a set of manuals here somewhere, I should scan
them some day. I had, up until a couple years ago, the whole
kit and kaboodle - everything including the transit case.

I used to have a TRC-77, and as Mike says, it's fairly light
in comparison to most sets out there. Being crystal controlled
it doesn't need the added weight of a synthesizer and associated
circuitry.
