It's carrier telephony over FM.

In other words, several SSB sig.s munged together w/o carriers on TX.

RX has filter bank to seperate, say, 10-20khz, 20-30, 30-40, 40-50.
Carriers re-inserted with a BFO (base freq. osc.)

But there's one TX freq. so Bob W & questioning-guy both sorta right about
'channels.'
