I'm not so sure Bob's talking about the TRC-1.
It's a crystal controlled single channel.

Maybe he had four T-14's etc running four
channels down the hill. What with what he was
doing just one channel don't appear to be enough.
(We removed the little fan and the top cover
and aimed a really big fan at it.

The power could be controlled by the loading.
Remember this thing was tuned (adjusted) manually.

TRC-1 itself wasn't a multiplex system. It could be
called that if a four-channel voice CF-1 bay was used
with it. And a four-channel CF-2 teletype bay could
be put on the three upper CF-1 channels. I have known
this equipment at the freq meter and soldering iron
level at three or four places while in AACS.

One time was on the mountain overlooking Tageu
Korea. BC-640's etc were on the hill. Air Traffic
Control Center down on the base. The last time was
at Eilsen in Alaska in 1955. There were eight systems
there. All with CF-1 and CF-2. Also EE-8 Ringers.

This trivia may pass on some idea what all this stuff
was used for.
