The TRC-1 (yes they were antracs)was the first multiplex system which went into the field.  Jerry Stover, now W5AE, went into France with the first system shortly after D-Day.  Jerry, for those of you not associated with mobile radio, came back to Dallas and founded CECO, Communications Engineering Company, which later spun off Decibel Products antennas, among other companies.  Get Jerry to talk about his WW2 experiences if you want an entertaining program for your radio club.
