Little late joining the thread, but what's the expression?
Have one w. a TU-26 on 80. Has dyno.
It as p/o SCR-245 is at least one reason army armor wound up on FM.
Big 1940/41 SCR-245 production troubles.
Then came Wis. NG's success w. Galvin push button cop 2-ways on 9m.
Eliminated radio op & were push button.
But had tank-track qrn trubs & Ft. Monmouth sed "let's try Link FM
cop radios."
Rest is history but do note FM SCR-508, etc. by WECo/Colonial
DID HAVE PUSH-BUTTONS
Marty who's whistling "look for the union label"
(FM solved qrn but also the 'capture effect' stopped inter-unit qrm. FM
called a big ww2 miracle like maggy, a-bomb, prox-fuse)
