About 1955 Heimy & Sam Laipirow ran a place in the dingy Knowlton's Corner
section of Cincinnati. I was then a new novice who'd gotten a T19/ARC5
fm Arrow in LA. A real sea-water-dunked mess that only a kid wudda
put back on the air.

Then came the Laipirow Bro.s discovery. What a surprise. Stuff for
half magazine prices and no shipping. Difference today between
hamfests & ebay.

I got on 6 using a Laipirow TU-75 w. 3 815s. NIB for ~$8 (which is prolly
fifty of today's bux).

Had to wait 50 years to find they were modules in BC-400 marker beacon
& BC-463 RC (ARW) tx's. Just ask the MA Kennedy people about ARWs.

Met Heimy several years back @ Cincy hamfest & sent him batch of acorn
tubes I'd "squirreled away." He'd become a ham & was fixing up a S-36.

We reminisced over Sam who'd passed on to the next world where lucky
souls run Morris coil winders for eternity.

  Marty
