[Milsurplus] Reluctance for ebayers to sell overseas

It's not just the American sellers that don't
want to ship out of country/continent.
Besides radios, I also play with old German cars.
I've noticed many British sellers and *most*
German sellers will not ship to the US, the
only way I've gotten much of anything out of
Germany is to have it shipped to a local address.
Britain is a bit easier, some will ship if I offer
a bit extra for "time and trouble" Few if any
Germans have ever replied to similar offers.
I've sold many items to overseas buyers in the EU
and elsewhere with no problem. Most of my items
were shipped by USPS. Hard to ship a T-195 that
way, but for smaller items it works fine.
The only thing that you have to be careful of these
days is modern or semi modern mil gear. Mike Murphy
(I think, it was one of the big surplus dealers) got
tagged a while back for selling glove liners or something
innocent like that to a buyer in Europe. Think he had
to go to court over that. Anyone on the list know of
what happened and to whom in this story? (I've slept
since then...)
