[Milsurplus] ebay bullsh*t from certain folk

I have seen in the past that August Link has in some auctions apparently wanted to
prevent some rare US items from going overseas.
One poster here implied an overseas buyer gloating over having more money. I don't
think that's the buyer's attitude, but i clearly understand USA antique radio
enthusiasts wanting some items not to be vacuumed up for export to ANY country,
allied or not. In fact, i am thinking not to auction some of my things precisely to
prevent this without more complicated gameplaying.
As for overseas buying, it's a fact that the table has tilted toward the orient for many
years. High end tube audio equipment has been severely thinned out here just for
that reason, and the oriental tube buyers and their pickers are still very active on these
shores. Maybe this is just the returning of the pendelum after our plundering of the
orient for souvenirs and lower priced electronics for years, but we still have freedom
of choice to refuse to sell overseas whatever we prefer here.
It's not really lack of money here, i don't think, when an SX-88 brings over $6000, altho
some individual foreign buyers may be the exception, such as that French guy at the
Muchow auction, who just kept his hand raised as the bidding for WW1 radio items
climbed.
