[Milsurplus] Hollywood and radio gear...

Hi Bob & crew

HP 608? Wow. Wouldn't exactly be my choice for a movie prop, unless maybe
a Frankenstein movie along with a brace of vintage variacs.

I've also noticed that there seems to be a concentration of boatanchor gear
up that-a-ways in BC.

Coincidentally, I purchased an AR-88LF from some kind of radio museum
outfit. I suppose it was unfit to display as someone had painted the front
panel yellow, covered all the stamped ("engraved") control lettering with
dymo labels and re-knobbed it with modern skirted knobs, instead of the
original RCA "console" knobs.

I acquired all the correct knobs and planned to restore its appearance to
original, but maybe I should just repaint it silver and rent it out to the
movie people -- unless they'd prefer yellow.

Must be more than a museum up in Vancouver. Canadian mil. base?

Barry
