[Milsurplus] Hollywood and radio gear...

I was sitting here watching Stargate SG-1 yesterday and was totally 
amazed by all the surplus stuff they had hauled out to use on the set 
just for one episode. Most of it had been modified with blue LED's and 
was not being used for anything like it's original purpose. Things like 
HP 608's were used as radios. Since this is hardly a documentary 
program it's a lot easier to sit back and laugh at it all rather than 
get worked up about the errors.

So here's the question. The program is shot up in the Vancouver area 
(the entire universe is full of planets that all look like the coast of 
British Columbia ...). Where are they getting all the cool old tube 
based military surplus gear? Somebody up there must have a major 
warehouse full of the stuff *and* the connections to get it used (plus 
a bunch of time to wire in LED's).

Connections + a bunch of gear = something useful
