I also ended up with a BC-342 receiver here. It looks like it is in pretty fair 
shape, except that the two tuning knobs have been changed a bit, and one 
of the phone jacks is missing.

Do any of the denizens of this list have much experience with the BC-342? I 
have a manual for it, and note that it has two RF stages, and a crystal filter, 
which should make it a pretty good receiver, despite the somewhat marginal 
tubes used.

Was this the precedessor to the BC-348, or was it a completely different 
receiver?

Anyone with some history on this?
