Hi

I'm sure there are people on here who can get into the BC-342 / BC-348
/ BC-312 / BC-224 in more detail than I can. The most obvious
difference between the 342 and the 348 is that the 348 was set up for
low voltage DC (28 volt) operation and the 342 is set up for 110 VAC.
About the only knock on the series of radios is that the IF is a little
wide for modern AM reception. The series of radios were aimed at
operation under less than ideal conditions. The wide IF was a
reasonable approach to making the tuning a little easier. This was a
very common radio to team up with a low frequency command set receiver
to tighten up the IF. I ran a combo line that for quite a few years
(long time ago ....)

	Enjoy!
