[Milsurplus] Military use of KWM-1

Really?  Having worked on U-2s, B-52 ECM, and SR-71s at Beale AFB during the
70s, I can't for the life of me understand how the pilot would operate a ham
radio in a U-2?  My recollection is a standard comm set-up.  Do you have any
photos, or details on how they would be operated, or why?
