[Milsurplus] Military use of KWM-1

Hi to the group,

Does anyone have any information on the use of the Collins KWM-1 by the 
military.  I know that they were installed in the early U-2's.  I am looking for 
any information as to any modifications they had.  I would appreciate any 
pictures or descriptions of these units.  I have one that has some strange 
modifications done to it including a crystal socket on the outside of the crystal box, 
a coupling that would allow remote control of the VFO and an SO-259 socket on 
the right side.
