Hi Jim,

Glyptal does get hard, like Duco cement. I thought of it because it is a period
material and is used as you described. The wires are already completely stiff
and don't need to flex. I want the repair to be as realistic as possible. In the
first post I neglected to include that the wires are various colors of rubber.
Cost is not a consideration, but preservation is. I would rather leave the set
unpowered, than rewire it with modern wire. This is a pretty rare, completely
unmodified, R.1155 receiver. Most all have had the DF parts stripped out and
been adapted for ham use.
