Dave, Joe, and Milsurplus people--

Truer words were never spoken about what happened during the 8 years of
the "Hitlery and Bubba show".
In 1996, the USS America, (CV/CVA-66) was decommissioned, and left
to rot at
the remains of the old Philadelphia Navy Yard. Those of us who served
aboard her, anytime thru her long and distinguished career, and
especially those who served on her during her Vietnam deployments, have
formed a Museum Foundation to obtain the ship, and restore her as a
museum and attraction.
Ok, Yes, I have a personal stake in this, I am Preservations Officer
for the USS America Museum Foundation, and (naturally) have a desire to
restore her comm and electronic spaces as well as possible, so people
can SEE what comms were like and are like (From M28's to Computer
Displays). Opnote: Would you have expected anything else?? --hi--
Personally, I feel that this was a direct act by the Xlintoon
Dynasty to eliminate anything that held the name of this honorable
Republic, and also to leave the JFK (CV/CVA-67) to be a museum ship when
she is decomissioned. The Chappaquidick Submariner would probably like
nothing better.
    All here can help.
    Go to the web site
http://ussamerica-museumfoundation.org for the Museum Foundation

The museum website has a petition to sign, and downloadable copies (in
Word and .pdf format) to collect signatures.
They may have reduced the SR-71 to museum status only, but, as you
read this, they are destroying the USS America!!
