Because the Clinton administration intentionally destroyed 
the SR-71 program, just as they did a great many defense
related programs all over the world.  The aircrews were 
scattered, the tanker crews scattered, the spare engines
left out in the weather until worthless and the airframes
allowed to be contaminated until they were fit only for museums.

I used to say "if people only knew the truth," 
about Clinton appointees, but I don't say that anymore.  
They know the truth; they just don't give a damn.
