Most interest, until quite recently, has been in the comm gear. That's part of the
reason that the nav and radar and countermeasures has almost completely
disappeared. If it could not be modified or stripped for parts for ham or other
use, the dealers often junked the stuff. There was simply no market. AQN/APN-2s
were stripped for IF strips. The various 'Surplus Conversion Manuals' were a
disaster for collectors. The result is that unmodified equipment is rare and IMO
often the result of a ham buying an ARC-5 or ART-13 and just never getting around
to do the mods. (I never had any intention of moding any of my gear, since I'm a
collector, not an operator. My interest is how they solved problems with far
simpler technical resources. How many on the list have really studied HOW some of
this gear works to any depth?

I have a very few NOS, dry charged BB-212/Us for the PPN-2 and would sell one for
a really deserving collector, but not if you can use a gel cell instead. I
recently bought a WS 58 supply with NOS battery also. It'll not get filled while I
own it.
