The operating manual is AN 08-30ARC9-2, 18 November 1944. The two later
became (I don't have these) T.O. 12R2-2ARC9-1 & -2. Don't know the dates.
Also have at least two different Bendix manuals dated 1942. I had three
RTA-1B's in various states. Two went East several years ago. I'll have to
remember to see how much is left of the third one (if I still have it).
I can't prove when the AN/ARC-2 actually went into service, but the design
and construction is very much late WW-II'ish. PTO is similar to the one in
AN/ARR-15 and different from R-388/390 et al. And it used 1625's! If it had
come out in the 50's, it would have used 6146's or 4X150's. And used coax
instead of open wire for the antenna connector.
