I don't know anything about conversions done on the West Coast, but when I 
started to LSU in 1961, I had a friend named Morris W. (Wes) Verlander 
(K5???) whose dad made at least part of his living converting BC-375's for 
use on shrimp boats.  He may have done other conversions as well.  As I 
recall, they lived in LaRose Cutoff, LA.  I transferred to LA Tech in '65 and 
lost touch with Wes.  He may still be around.
