I know hw probably was not paying attention at the time, but were the
sets from 1920s and 30s orders, or 1940s orders? I ask this silly
question, as with these older sets (many SCRs), I rarely find ones from
the 1940-42 orders with much "real" wear and tear, or other evidence of
actual field use. Likewise, with the real interwar produced sets, it is
rare to find ones that have not been around the block a few times.
And hey...the radios worked. Not well by any 1940s standards, but they
worked! The only 1920s sets I have heard really did not work at all were
the early 1920s aircraft sets.
