The R-388 is the military nomenclature for the 51J3. The 51J3 has no
mechanical filters.

Hi All,
I have  a bit of a dumb question, I say dumb because years ago I owned each
of these units and now can't remember the real differances between them.  If
memory is correct the 51J4 had 3 mechanical filters on a board and the R-388
does not??  Well, I am sure one of you guys who knows this stuff backward
and forward will educate me.  I ask because I would like to obtain one of
them again and want to buy the best one for general receiving purposes.
