The SP-400 was a postwar civilian model (smaller cheaper power supply). =

The SP-210 family was made in many variants, all five-band but the covera=
ge
of each band varied. Most of them covered 2.5-5.0 and 5.0-10.0 MC. The
four military models were BC-779 (100-400 KC & 2.5-20.0 MC), BC-794
(1.25-40.0 MC), BC-1004 (0.54-20.0 MC) and R-129/U (100-400 KC & 2.5-20.0=

MC). The latter model is the modified BC-779. The main difference betwe=
en
the SP-110 and SP-210 families is that the latter used all metal octal
tubes where the former had used 6C6, 6D6, etc.

>Well, if memory serves, a really chancy situation these days, the BC-779=

was an SP-200, and the SP-400 was nomenclatured BC-1008, or something
close to that. If no one else confirms, I'll have to hit the books to
get the exact number.
